    Lightbulb Vegas suggestions!

My husband and I are taking a vacation to Vegas for a week and I know there are some fabulous restaurants there.. Any suggestions? There is also a Chinese type restaurant but it's upscale that I'm thinking of but don't know the name. Anybody know what I'm talking about? I'm also open to suggestions for things to do! We'll probably be going to a few bars, but don't want to be out barhopping every night, we also both play poker

Thanks, but I don't think it was either of those, if I remember correctly the name of the restaurant had a color in it like red or green. Or maybe I'm just an idiot and am making this up. If I can't figure out the name of the restaurant, we'll check out one of the above suggestions

I'm going to assume you are looking for above average restaurants. Here are some suggestions:

Nobu - In the Hardrock Hotel - Japanese food. The Miso Cod is a signature dish, but everything is good. Shibuya in the MGM is decent too although I prefer the vibe at Nobu.

Delmonicos - In the Venetian - Emeralds place - for the steak.

What kind of cuisine do you like?

    Nobu for sushi

have to disagree with xdamage, Smith & Wollensky's for steak

This may be the restaurant you are thinking of, it's called Chinois and it's Asian fusion. It's at Caesars.

LR, I'm not too big on seafood. My husband loves steak though.. Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! We're not going until December, maybe we'll even stop by a club or two, I don't know any of you that well but it would be nice to put a face to a name if any of you will be working around that time

I have heard Mystere is the best cirque show. I haven't seen it yet, but I LOVE cirque shows. That is something I wouldn't miss.

Quark's Bar and Grill, in the Hilton.

The restaurant you're probably thinking of is Red 8 at the Wynn. The Wynn is also home to Okada, which is giving Nobu a run for it's money. All the Wynn eateries are very good and very expensive.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! I can't get enough of this place and that's coming from a very picky red meat eater, Emeril Lagasse is my hero!

I also love Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay's place), that place is insanely good, such creative food!

    I'm getting hungry...

Thanks for the tip. I'll give this place a try my next Vegas trip.

p.s. To the OP... if you decide to go to Nobu, they have a soft shell crap sushi roll that you must try.

The absolute best italian food in Vegas comes from a small bar/lounge type place, where the owner stands at the door and greets people. It's a small cozy romantic atmosphere, and a really good Frank Sinatra type impersonator sings. Prices are not expensive at all, but the food is sooo good, I would glady pay $100 a plate. So if your looking for a small local type restraunt I suggest this place.

it's called Casa Di Amore, on Tropicana

Are you talking aboout Little Budda at The Palms? I quite enjoyed myself the one time we ate and drank there about two years ago.

If you have some $$$ to blow on a fab meal you could try Craft at MGM. I suggest doing one of the full course things they have as it is the biggest bang for the buck. Awesome food and oh my the mini dessert platte is divine so save or make room at the end

I also like Nine at the Palms. Again a bit pricy for dinner but good food and a cool modern atmosphere.

I am also going to Vegas next month and have tickets booked for their Zumanity show at Ny/NY. That is their only true adult themed show. You will probably enjoy any of the Cirque shows. They are all fantastic from my experience and I have seen two so far in LV, the one in Orlando as well as two traveling shows.

You might also try the more traditional LV showgirl productions like the Crazy Horse one that is showing at MGM.

As far as bars and nightclubs go both the ones at the Palms are well known to be good places. Ghostbar is more what they call an ultra lounge and Rain is a nightclub.

I hear the Jet at Mirage is supposed to be hot on Mondays ( maybe it's Tues ? anyway some early in the week night) I plan to check it out while I am there this time around.

I've had good times at Body English as well. It's in The Hard Rock. I've had some great nights in the nightclub at The Luxor too.

    Hope that helps!

I've had a good meal there (Kobe beef which was good, but not the best I've had; Lobster which was very good; a side which was acceptable), but I've also had a mediocre meal there. It's not clear that their non-Kobe beef is even Prime beef, so the OP may want to avoid the non-specified steaks. I do like the atmosphere there. The place has a warm dim wood decor and is just a great place to chill out after a long day. I haven't tried the full course tasting options. As you wrote, that's probably the way to go.

We went to a FABULOUS restaurant when we were in Vegas last year....but for the life of me I cant remember the name. It was in Mandalay Bay...and I think you had to have an in there to get a reservation...private club type thing or something. A friend of our's sister worked there so she got us in. The place was small but gorgeous and the food was unbelievable! And they had a balcony where you could see the whole city..amazing view!!

I'm a geek I know....but I LOVE buffets..and Vegas has some of the best!! One of the things I miss about living in Atlantic City!(they had a lot too...)

It's a chain that only has 8 locations, not a chain like Olive Garden. And they are all on the east coast.

I've also heard good things about Charlie Palmer Steakhouse at the Four Seasons. Haven't been there yet...

Really? I thought they were bigger then that. I guess because I've only lived on the east coast so it seemed to me like they were always around!LOL!

Hubby and I ate up there once. It was so gross, I guess I'm not one for french cuisine, lol. But the desert was out of this world!

I have to add a suggestion to yours Jade about going to the Eiffel Tower, make reservations for desert there!!!! Yummy!!

    My favs:
    O Show
Picasso, La Cirque in the Bellagio
AquaKnox or Valentino's in the Venetian
