    Default Cellulite Buster

This may sound cheesy, but I have to recommend this video:

It hits on the butt and thigh area and talks about how to get rid of cellulite. One thing I hadn't realized is that cellulite is actually a sign that you're not healthy as you could be! I thought it was just a cosmetic bother.

The workout portion is only 20 minutes a day. Totally do-able.

    Cheers!

Yes, cellulite means maybe you have too much fat... I think it appears when there's too much of the fat.... you start getting that weird texture look. I remember when I was getting my heaviest weight, I saw cellulite start appearing on the back of my ass and upper thighs...yikes! I felt mortified in front of boyfriend! It definitely was a confidence-killer for me.

I lost the cellulite not by miracle creams... Rather, by just loosing the weight I gained. The cellulite went away. It's a fancy name for fat that ends up making your surface skin cottage-cheesy and uneven.

I think the video has the right idea going...exercise is important in getting rid of cellulite. However, I think it'd only work well if you're loosing fat along with the exercise (thus burning more calories than you consume the whole day). Simply exercising but eating enough to not create a calorie deficit...it might make things look more toned...yes, but the celllulite still will be there.

Cellulite is FAT. It's not a "magic" type of fat that stays on you when all the other fat cells shrink. You have to burn calories and shrink ALL your fat cells and tone up the surrounding muscles. Eat low carb ( forget skim milk ) no dairy and high protein and work out HARD and LONG. Lift like a guy and do at LEAST 30 minutes of hard cardio ( sweat pouring off you and breathing hard) at least 4 X a week and you'll get rid of the cellulite. Whatever 's left over will have to lipo-sculpted and/ or tucked.

No, that's what this video is so encouraging about. Statements like that (above) make women feel helpless (sorry, Eric!) re: you'll have to get liposuction. The trainer asks Dr. Murad on the video time and time again -- is it possible to get rid of cellulite in a natural manner? Yes, absolutely. They focus on three main areas, nutrition, exercise, and circulation.

I found this video so encouraging and so healthy! and positive toward women. It really gets you in a healthy mindset about cutting out processed foods and sugar and doing things that are healthy for your body anyway. That's why I'm recommending it.

This video talks about nutrition for a long time. (I learned about Goji berries here!)

I'm not prone to bad cellulite, but after I lost weight my skin got loose. And that's when I noticed the cellulite. I never had it when I had some weight before, my skin was smooth then. It's not bad cellulite, it's very little. But I still hate it of course.

Cellulite is caused by the connective tissue, not the fat itself. When it stretches, the fat pokes through (think of a net). Losing weight can cause it to appear less obvious as there's less fat, but it doesn't get rid of it. I'm sorry but if I did the high protein low carb diet and lifted like that, I'd be sick and still have cellulite.

Or you could go get that surgery where they go under the skin and break the bands that cause cellulite... saw it done in Tabitha Stevens on Dr. 90210. They can fix anything nowadays...

I agree Vivacious, circulation is a very important aspect in targeting cellulite.

Not only do sugar and processed foods slow down the metabolic processes which work in tandem with the lymphatic, endocrine and repiratory systems - In essence, the beautiful symphony that is the body's circulatory system, but it also hijacks and alters them, along with neurotransmitters which affect every function in your body and your body's ability to perform said functions.

When the byproducts of these process are not metabolized/properly excreted, they accumulate just beneath the skin's surface giving the characteristic "dimpling" appearance.

So, yes, I agree it goes beyond exercise because the condition involves more than just muscle and fat. As Cherie mentioned, there are heavier people who don't exhibit cellulite, a likely result of a difference in their circulatory systems than in those who do.

Ah!! Reading the description of that surgery scared me. Oh well, thanks for the post.

I am just going to do what you said, Hot2Trot, because I really want to be healthy. It's not just cosmetic, although cellulite is a great motivator. Thanks for explaining it more!
