My hair is thigh length. It does take more time/effort than a shorter style, but I have become accustomed to it that it, so it doesn't bother me.
My issue is that sometimes it can look, well, just "long". A couple of years ago I had it styled generically in layers, but I would like something with a little more "umph".
When I do searches I cannot find hair styles in my length.
This is causing me to hesitate booking an appointment with a hairdresser, since I don't want to want to walk in there without a picture (Past experiences have proven them to be notoriously scissor happy and I want to keep my length.
I have read that there are specialty salons specializing in long hair, but their pics show Rennaisance-themed hairstyles. While they look beautiful, I am looking for something more modern:

, although my hair doesn't hate me for it - Well, not too much anyway. I use a low setting (2) and have a cool-shot button on my blow dryer.
