Default Elect the Dead... Serj Tankian

I'm in love with this man, and have been since I was 14.

tattoogoddess posted the "empty walls" vid in the youtube vids thread, but I would like to say that the song "Bird of Paradise" from V for Vendetta is going to be Moi on the pole this saturday.... GORGEOus, delicate, semi-phrenetic at intervals, and super-interesting...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0If7ksPCfw

it sounds like System meets the Gotan Project... fuck yeah!!!

so... seeing as though I haven't bought the cd yet and limewire/youtube are not producing any other danceable tracks from the cd (I have "starlit eyes," "we are one," and "unthinking majority"... NONE of these are stripp-able, though they will definitely be on my workout list!), can anyone help me out in my serj quest?? (and yes, i am well aware of everything system has ever done. thanks)

can i tell you how ARRRRSome you are?? Yaknow, like a pirate? (*not a donkey.) so, SERART- serj's collarboration w/ arto somecrazyarmenianlastname, has this TOTALLY strippable song called "facing the plastic." Poifect! Danke schoen...

however, "Buckethead," who sounds like they've been eating Slipknot records peppered w/ serj-ish vocals and 80's guitar solos, has a lead singer who wears the damn mask out of Nip/Tuck. OMG THE CARVER HAS A BAND!!!!! ahhahhahaaaa

^ hehe aww thanks!! sooo.... that kinda sucks- he's playing las vegas the day before my b-day right after i leave? but skipping L.A., his hometown?? poooo....

Next time I need the bike serviced I'm gonna go knock on his door in glendale.

... ok, i keed i keed. (not like the man'll be home) but... *sigh*

EDIT.... that "facing the plastic" had a nice clip on the website that seemed rhythmic and danceable. Upon downloading... it's totally incongruent (very serj) and all over the map. It wasn't meant to be mainstream and played at a club. i guess i'm stickin' w/ 'empty walls' (depending on how dead the club is) and 'bird of paradise' until my lazy ass actually BUys the cd. There's GOTTA be a ballad on the cd.

More on Buckethead... they're interesting.... Kind of amusing/nutso metal... mostly instrumental. and I MUST post a pic of the lead singer/guitarist (nip/tuck?) with a constant KFC bucket on his head...

Buckethead isn't really a "they" as much as it's a "he". Buckethead's been in the SoCal music scene for quite a while making a living as a phenomenal and quite bizarre guitar virtuoso. At least I think he's SoCal based, I don't know for sure, I lived in NorCal when I found out about him. I think he kind of rode in on the tail end of the whole kind of wacky crazy LA rock scene a la Faith No More. Anyway, he wasn't really widely known though except among other musicians, especially guitarists - which is the only reason I knew about him back in like 1998.

Then a few years back Axl picked him as the lead guitarist in the crew of scabs that he nowadays bills as Guns and Roses, and Buckethead got some notoriety walking in front of huge crowds of aging GnR fans who seem to have all reacted with a big "WTF?". His tenure only lasted a little while though and I think Axl now has another old underground shredder Ron Thal playing for him, unless he lost his head again and fired everyone so that he could lock himself in the closet with his mystical copy of Chinese Democracy.

Also Serj is my daddy, if all those rumors about SOAD breaking up are true I want him to rescue me from the North Jersey bar scene and make me a rock star in his next band.

While people are posting youtube links... Buckets and Axl doing "Nighttrain" -one of my favorite GnR tunes:

Buckethead can play circles around Slash skill wise, but I just wasn't really feeling this video nonetheless. Although to be fair, I could only watch the first 25 seconds b/c my internet connection is sucking tonight.

Even on a stripper forum I find all the posts about rock and tattoos. Whee!

SOAD didn't exactly 'break up'. They decided they needed a break from the band and wanted to work on side projects. Daron will also be releasing a solo album as well. SOAD said they will never be 'broken up'.
