    Default Diuretics and chronic thirst

I drink lots and lots of water, especially lately. So much so that I have to get up in the middle of the night to pee, every night. I just need to guzzle it back. I think it has something to do with an increased dose of some hormone meds that are also diuretics. I thought I'd adjust and get used to it, but it's been a few weeks. I guess it's not so bad. Is there anyway to fight this side effect though? Should I tell my doctor (I am so afraid she will take me off these glorious pills, and I don't want to go back to the days of acne and other nastiness)...she's kind of paternalistic about prescriptions.

    Welcome to my world!

This might seem counterproductive, but drinking moderately caffienated beverages increases the time it takes for my system to process the water out (again, this is my experience.)

Also eat fruit with high water content.

thanks for the tips...madmaxine, it does seem true that when I drink more tea I don't get the symptoms as much. For whatever reason. I just have to remind myself to drink more water a few hours before bed, and then try to slow down the guzzling.

I take diurhetic meds for hormones and I drink and pee constantly. I guess I'm just used to it. If I don't get enough water I'll feel really dehydrated.

    Caffiene is a diuretic.

There is no real solution to the problem. If you're taking diuretics, you're gonna pee, and when combined with mass amounts of water intake, the body needs to decrease your blood pressure, so you have to pee it out.

Many medications act as diuretics.. how to stop yourself from chronically having to go? Stop the medication, or find an alternative.
