    Default Yoga - Quick Question

    Because the most excersize I know about / get is heading from the television to the fridge...

    ... I have the oppurtunity to take some beginner Yoga courses for free. What is Yoga mainly used for...? I mean, weight loss? Strength? Just relaxation? Cardio? I know nothing about it so wanted to know what I would be getting into, I suppose.

    there are different types of yoga. "regular" yoga improves strength and flexibility. there's cardio yoga, for cardio. it depends on what type of class it is.

    Go for it! Especially if it is a couple of free classes...you don't have anything to lose. Yoga is awesome...it will help you build strength and flexibility...improves your breathing and circulation, and is a very calming experience. I've never walked out of a yoga class not feeling fantastic. There a ton of different types of yoga, but based on your description of it being a beginner class, I would guess that it is most likely a sort of yoga/pilates combo...probably focusing on very basic poses. You'll have to let us know if you do it and what you think of it!
