    Default Healthy Light Breakfast

I have a hard time with breakfast. I started eating in the morning but I feel so bloated.

I need something that is light but will fill me up. My problem is I need something good to eat before working out... I dont want to get light headed and faint.

    Any easy (tasty preferably) ideas?

This is a good one...i live on this for breakfast. Get some small whole wheat tortillas and cook up some eggwhites (add lowfat/nonfat cheese). Roll the eggs up in the tortilla and you have a little egg roll up. They are yummy and seriously low fat/low cal/low carb!!!

and a small glass of fat free organic milk. The organic kind doesn't taste all watery like the regular cow kind. Start workout 60-90 minutes after meal.

Oh.. I hate hate hate regular milk. Ive never been much of a milk fan (when I was a baby my mom gave me goats milk, weird huh) but can only stomach the organic stuff...

Thanks for the breakfasts... those I can eat. Keep the ideas comming - Id prefer not to eat the exact same thing day after day...

Usually eating the same thing every day lets your stomach know what its going to get. So when, for example, your hungry after noon you know what you're going to eat instead of grabbing some fast food. Yet, if this works for you, then yay.

    I used to have
spinach, egg whites from Trader Joes, garlic, shallots, and a sprinkle of cheese with fat free buttered wheat toast.
*Put in egg whites, scramble, wait till almost done
*put in spinach (and mushrooms if you like) and shallots
*garlic and cheese sprinkle last add pepper to your taste
Takes a bit of work but nice for the next mornings meal.

Or you can have a MRP (meal replacement shake). Easy mix with milk or water depending on the brand. Steer clear of smilfast it really isn't all that healthy...tons of unneeded sugar. Something with low sugar, moderate carb load, lots of protein and less than 350 calories per serving would be ideal. I had the vanilla go lean shake but at 23grams of sugar per serving is too high.

Really? So its better to eat the same thing?

... dont have to worry about fast food. Id rather starve. But I will end up snacking....

I have the same boring thing but it has made a big difference in my morning training sessions.

I eat a 3 egg omelette, with baby spinach , swiss and mozzarella cheese. That is coupled with a small bowl of steel cut oats.

Pretty ideal from an academic standpoint, but it actually tastes fantastic.

I never "drink" milk, could never stand the taste by itself. I'm also very lactose intolerant so I pay dearly for every bowl of cereal I enjoy. I used to hate eggs too but I can't deny their value to me now.

Some kind of oat-derived food is gonna be fantastic in the morning. Oatmeal, or steel cut or rolled oats if you can find them. I use McCanns steel cut oats because i'm fucking hardcore like that:

Even if you are low carb dieting, you should probably have some kind of carbohydrate before your workout, or else you really aren't going to have a very productive one, in most cases.

It worked for me as I started to lose weight again this summer. I would have
    B: egg whites and toast
    S: yogurt and apple
L: turkey sandwich no mayo only mustard on whole wheat
S: More fruit or protein shake (depending if I worked out that day)
D: 3-4 oz chicken and veggies

So at any given time of the day I could eat only what was on my list. Or an extra serving of fruit or veggies. This way I had no excuse to snack or get fast food because those things didn't fit into my diet (especially at the amount of calories I could eat by snacking or getting fast food -no thanks) I did get burned out on eggs and switched to oatmeal finally. I kinda hate eggs now; except, only if I'm out for brunch.

I make my own smoothies which is much cheaper and healthier than buying them elsewhere.
Strawberries, half a banana, some yogurt, juice, and ice with protein powder is healthy and filling.

I love breakfast! I like to vary it up but here are some of mine... of course, they ALL come with coffee.

Whole-wheat toast or whole wheat English muffin with garlic hummus, plus fruit
Bowl of Kashi with skim milk or vanilla soy milk, and a banana sliced into the cereal
2 links turkey sausage and a bowl of grits with sriracha
Sandwich of artichoke hummus, cucumbers, and fresh baby spinach on whole-wheat bread
Breakfast grilled-cheese: Cinnamon-raisin bread, slice of sharp cheddar, slice of red apple in the middle, grilled crisp

Personally, I like to start my day with a carb, and I hate eggs (though I'll occasionally eat the whites; I just think the yolks taste like a fart). If you're on a no-carb, high-protein thing, disregard!

I like the Quaker Weight Control instant Oatmeal in the Maple/brown sugar flavor, it comes in a green and white box (below). I mix one pack with water and heat for 45 seconds in the microwave. It's very fulfilling and helps with restroom situation as well. I sometimes will also eat fresh fruit or one scrambled egg along with it depending on how hungry I am.

I can't handle breakfast before work, always in a hurry. So I try to chug down some kefir. Sometimes I make time for low-fat granola and almond milk. But this is because I work 12 hours a day, and am always running to get to the office.

How about a smoothie or some drinking yogurt? I rarely feel hungry on waking, but I usually have juice, kefir, milk or drinking yogurt for energy.

I eat yogurt. I get the big thing of Nancy's organic original flavor, and every morning I pour on some berries or honey, stir up the top layer, and eat till the yogurt gets plain again. No dishes. :-)

I drink a protein shake with flaxseeds first thing in the morning. I wake up hungry and it's so easy I'm still half asleep by the time I'm drinking it.

Typically I eat a bowl of instant oatmeal and a banana. That's a pretty light yet filling meal.

Some days I'll make a smoothie. I like to use organic milk, whey protein powder, a banana, flak seed oil, some frozen blackberries (or blueberries) and some peanut butter. That's a little more filling but you can vary the quantity easily.

a banana with peanutbutter (i just ate one!) good carbs and sugars and protein= much energy to burn!

i <3 the weight control oatmeal too! i eat the banana bread kind and mix in some fruits and nuts.

eggs scrambled with last nights leftovers (a meat and some veggies)

yogurt w/ fruit and granola is yummy.

i like a rice cake topped with jam and some fresh fruit.

It's very yummy, but I rarely get to have it. It's not the kind of thing you want to have every day, but you can have it every once in awhile without worrying about it. Big points for grilling it in real butter. It's delicious!
