Default looking pretty is hard work

Here's a little recap of my day

    12 30 eyelash extensions

    2pm mani/ pedi

    4pm work out (1.5 hrs)

    6 pm spray tan

total time spent on my appearance today : 6 hrs

Geez. Looking hot is time consuming !! Its been so long since I have worked, I forgot how much effort it takes.

Ugh, I know!! Skin, waxing, make-up, hair (styling and color maintenence), tanning, working out, fingernails, toenails...
At some point, most women (hopefully) realize that "the number" doesn't matter one iota and the notion of "slut" is just socially-generated bullshit meant to keep us "in our place". I will fuck who I please when I please and I don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks about it.

Beauty maintenance in general is taxing at best.

I try to minimize the amount of time and money I spend on myself, but I have been told that my basic upkeep routine is more higher maintenanced than most. I don't choose this lifestyle by no means, but in order to stay competitive and successfully past the look test it's important that I appear as flawless as possible.

Unfortunately, just a good nights rest isn't all that I need to get my day going...

I exhausted. And I get to do it all again tomorrow ! I think during my time off I became a low maitenance chic. I forgot how much maitenance it all is. And don't get me started on getting back in shape....

You know what I love is when people tell you that 'isn't it great to treat and spoil yourself?'.. yeah, getting my eyelids pulled on, my nailbed ripped up and covered in smelly fumes, running 4 miles and sitting in an oven seems so TOTALLY comfortable and fun.

Not including in-shower exfoliation, 5 minutes daily. I moisturise my elbows and knees with heavy moisturiser and that's about it.

But on a weekly basis, I do aspirin and hair masks, body scrubs and hot oil treatments on my hair, while waxes come monthly. I'm very low maintenance, and if you ever saw me you could probably tell ahaha.

I'm relatively low-maintenence too (and yeah, it's kind of obvious) and it's STILL exhausting as hell. I don't know how some of you girls do it. I could probably only handle tacking on another few minutes weekly before I literally lost my mind and like, amputated my own face.

But only if you rush it, but if it is look as a day of relaxing and pampering, it can be a wonderful experience!

I spend soooo much less time and money on physical maintenance now. Previously I would tan 2-3 times week, and have a mani/pedi/eyebrow and bikini wax twice a month.

I spend god knows how much on professional hair bleaching and extentions.

Working out is important no matter what of course. I would also take yoga classes at another, expensive place, when I danced. Now I just stick to what the gym offers.

Oh, and fake eyelashes, havn't worn them since I quit probably. They are such a pain!

Now I tan once a month at most, and don't buy the add-on package. I do my own pedicures occasionally, bite my nails to the quick, and my friend does my hair for free.

Since I retired, I've easily saved at least $5K a year, if not more...don't feel like looking up my old spreadsheets.

I'm pretty low maint..and its still a pain. Working out, dieting, tanning, hair, makeup...

I just yanked off my fake nails and am going au natural for awhile so thats one thing..I HATE getting my nails done., They always hurt for a day after because they get burnt by the damn dremel. i never get pedicures because I am VERY ticklish and have to practically bite through my lip to not kick the chick in the face when shes scraping my feet.

I color my hair myself. No fake lashes because I dont know how to put them on....

I feel so low maintenance compared to you guys. I don't get my nails/toes done- I do it myself.. I keep my nails on my hands short and clean because i'm learning to play guitar and am always doing stuff with my hands.. they'd get broken and chipped and in the way so easily!! I go tanning twice a week now... i have to here because there's no sun in oregon! That's pretty much the extent of my beauty regimen.. tanning 2x a week, yoga 3x a week for a class in school, biking/walking everywhere for cardio.. Even if I had the time/money to get my nails/toes done, get my hair done professionally, go tanning more often, get waxed, whatever.. i dont think i'd do it because I wouldn't be able to stand someone else touching and messing with my body. It's a control thing.. I won't even let anyone else cut my hair.

I thought that was standard until I found my dream nail lady. But she's absolutely perfect. I couldn't ask for a better woman. It's been three weeks and my nails look fresh. Perhaps you're going to the wrong person? Search! Search for your nail person of HAPPY and YAY!

Also, to answer the question: My nails take about an hour and half. My eyebrows take an hour. My toes never get done. Um... 4 hours a week not including makeup? Hair straightened... dyed... yeah, about right.

Im low maint also, and I get annoyed even touching up my toenails/nails! I dont tan or self tan but I probably should since I look like a ghost. I just cant take that self tanner smell ! I stopped putting highlights in my hair over a year ago, so now its at a weird half grown out phase..I seem to go through phases of really getting my looks together for a couple months(dieting, working out, facials, tanning beds) and then letting myself go for a couple months...never ending cycle lol. Damn laziness, I wish i would make myself do more

I spend between 0 and 30 minutes daily and maybe an extra half an hour on hair wash night

I've gone to about a million nail places. I think I just have such thin nails that it is inevitable with me.
