so. I wanna make my own holloween costume.

I want to make the green fairy costume from moulin rouge, b/c I can't find it online.

so..... is there an easy-ish way to affix all the glitter and actually keep it on?

Just do like I did for glitter projects in elementary school, lay some newspaper down on a table, cover the whole dress in elmer's glue and sprinkle green glitter on it, then shake it off. Voila!

I was the green fairy two years ago! It was a terrific costume, and I got a lot of compliments on it. I tried to find an authentic bottle of absinthe to carry around, but since it's legal in the US, shipping was too tricky. I just got a bottle of vodka, found a cool old liquor bottle in a thrift store, squirted in some food coloring and presto! Absinthe looking liquid!

For the dress, I shopped at teeny stores, like Deb, Rave, the junior section of Boscov's. I found a green glittery dress that was floor length. I took it to a tailor, who hacked away the skirt, and reshaped it to fit like the dress in the pics you posted, and altered the neckline to have the same look as the Moulin Rouge one. Maybe try that route? It only took my tailor a few days, so you should have plenty of time.
