    Default Boxingdoc..opinion please?

Well..any doc on this site, but I really trust her opinion. I'll talk to my actual Dr next time I see him, but I'm wondering now....

I think I have to stop taking Tonalin. I think it is screwing with my pancreatitis......is that possible???? I'm getting more frequent and more severe attacks since I upped my dosage.

I know I have to limit my protein and fat intake...but 1) I didnt think Tonalin had enough fat to harm me and 2) its GOOD fats..i didnt think they were as bad for me.

Fucking figures. I finally find something that works and my damn disease wont let me have it. Stupid fucking disease....I cant have anything good anymore.

Do you drink alcohol at all? What is the actual fat content of the Tonalin?

well, fat is fat whether it is considered "good" or "bad". Your body processes it just the same. It's the byproducts and after effects of the processing that makes one good or bad. Perhaps, you should try backing off on the dosage to find a level your pancreas doesn't mind.

I do drink alcohol. I shouldnt..it's on my mile long NO list...but I dont drink a lot. A cpl a week now tops.

According to the bottle...it says calories:9 calories from fat:9 Total fat:1g. This is per capsule...I've been taking 4-6 capsules a day.

I wouldn't think 4 to 6 grams of fat would do that. I mean I think most women in our age range and size should have around 50 grams of fat daily if they are not dieting. I personally don't eat more than 30 grams in a typical day but it's not like your eatting a double cheeseburger or something.

No, but I'm differant because of my disease. I cant really find anything that tells me hw much is too much...but fat and protien dont digest with me and cause attacks. so I have to be careful. Boxingdoc..do you have any rescorces that would give me a guideline to that? I have a LONG list of NO foods...but nothing that says how much fat and protein I can safely have in and of itself.

Like..I can eat a handful of chips...but if I ate the whole bag, I'd prob be doubled over in pain.

A double cheeseburger would DEFINATELTY cause an attack.

And since an attack can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days...I try to avoid them at all costs.

I should give up alcohol completely. But dammit..I cant bring myself to. And so far...occassional indulgences in alcohol doesnt seem to trigger an attack. I f I drank every day..it may though.

This disease seriously sucks. Esp. since I went misdiagnosed for over 20 years as it just gor worse and worse. Sigh.

Sorry...I'm having an attack today and I'm in a LOT of pain and feeling very sorry for myself....

I cut back my drinking substantially & it helped a lot on every way...I know it sucks but maybe you can find some alternatives to drinking (like "herb".)

Check out for some alternatives to Tonalin CLA, several weightlifters/ athletes are so over Tonalin already & have found different products they keep pushing me to try. You'll have to test them to see if they're right for you...

Thanks...herb does nothing for me. It isnt that I want to get drunk or "need" it...I just enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail and dont really want to give it up. I'm already giving up so much...if it starts triggering though I will.

Thanks for the site...I'll check it out!

I'm just off shift and exhausted. I took a quick look and could only find reference to limiting your fat intake to 30 % or less of your total calories. I'll have to look more later when I have had a bit of sleep. Yawn...I'm soooo tired.
