Anyone have infusions? How do you like them? Do they damage your hair? How do they remove them? Can you get them in a curly texture? How long do they last?
Gimme gimme your knowledge.

i had infusions for about four months... i did not like them.... too much maitenance and time for the upkeep... my hair has not been the same ever since i got them taken out... i have a lot of broken pieces of my natural hair.. i regret ever getting them.... some people love them though.... they do look hot in the club, but not worth it for everyday... thats just my opinion of them... i am currently trying to find a good set of clip ons....
I had MegaHair which I think comes in bigger pieces and is thicker hair than Great Lengths. The pros were that it allowed my real hair to "heal" because it was so damaged from bleaching. It didn't damage my real hair either. Plus, it's fun to sport a new look from time to time. Cons are that the hair sheds excessively and the extensions will start coming out if you wash, brush or style or your hair much. My thing is that I am not going around with a nappy head even if they are extensions. One more thing is that they are expensive as hell. The six months I had them it was nearly 2k to have them put initially then because of the shedding I had to have more put in every two months which was about 800 bucks.
If I wanted longer hair now I just get some of those clip-in extensions you can take in and out yourself.

I had them. I had a really bad experience. I wanted curly and the stylist said that they would curl up more after getting wet. They didn't.
I think they're better if you already have really straight hair and just want to add body and thickness. Trying to add body, thickness and length on curly hair didn't work for me and my stylist wasn't honest aabout several things.
If by infusions you mean fusion extensions, I've had them. They destroyed my hair and cost me a lot of money. I wish I had just went with clip ins at the time for work. Other people have had better luck with them though. My hair is kinda wavy and made it really easy for the pieces to tangle up.
If I got extensions again, I think I would get microlocs (Kaylinn's looked fantastic!) or Great Lengths. I also would get them not planning on wearing for an extended period of time. I wore fusion for over 8 months straight. I think if I had given myself a break every 2 months, my hair would've been in a lot better condition.
^ Thanks!!![]()
Great Lengths are still damaging, any kind of chemical bond will damage the hair. Well, any extensions will cause some damage, don't let anyone tell you diffrent.
Even these Hairlocs are causing minimal damage, because hair gets caught in the locs and breaks, but I have to say after 5 months, the damage is minimal. The expense is great tho. $1600 to put them in, plus $300 every 2 months for maintance. Plus the ONLY shampoo that does not cause slippage is Bumble and Bumble and it is $45 per bottle. SO $90 for shampoo and conditioner. I was losing 55+ strands in between maintances, and normal loss is 5-10. After using the B&B, I haven't lost any at all!
BUt yeah...I'd recommend the Hairlocs, I've been overall very happy with them.
^So have you decided to keep them now?
No. Can't make up my mind. Booked at appt. yesterday to take them out, then never showed up for it. I love how they look, but the expense and time consuming part is getting to me.
Ugh, I really really want them. I've had pinch braids, clip ins, and a weave and I HATE THEM ALL. They feel so awful. Pinch braids are bulky and painful. Clip ins are obvious and come out easily. A weave is just a wig sewn to your head - let's be honest.
I like the idea of infusions - but I wouldn't want them if you could feel the bond. Can you? Are they detectable?
You can definitely feel the bonds in your hair even if you can't see them. As in, your boyfriend will not be able to run his fingers through your hair w/o noticing little plastic-y feeling beads at the roots. Just ask a girl at work who has extensions if you can feel the bonds/rings/whatever. It will NOT be just like regular hair.
I've never had a clip in come out, and I think they can be blended with your real hair to look amazingly natural. The main thing is getting the color to match your own hair. I can't tell you how many girls at work have thought my clip-ins were my real hair.
And really, same deal with the half wig. I actually prefer it to the clip-ins because it is faster and easier to put on and deal with.
^^I've never had clip ins come out either.
I have AMAZING extensions called microchet. They have been in since June 1 and are still in. ( I am almost ready for a fill tho). My hair is very fine and bleached and I have had no damage whatsoever.
I got mine free because I do webdesign & got contacted by my client who had no money but needed a site up ASAP for her hair extension business.
So we did a little trade : )
I am not sure where you can get them at otherwise, I am in Vegas but I know she travels a lot. She trains hairdressers but also does the extensions :
