Default How the hell do I do my eyeshadow?

Okay, so here's the thing. I never wear make-up. Nevarrrr! And now I need make-up for work, but not only make-up, like huge flashy make-up. Well maybe not too too huge, but all the website tutorials on how to apply eyeshadow tell you how to apply it like you're going out on a regular afternoon. I want hot porn star eyes!

I'm a blank canvas, ladies: Go nuts with instructions/notes/tips!
At some point, most women (hopefully) realize that "the number" doesn't matter one iota and the notion of "slut" is just socially-generated bullshit meant to keep us "in our place". I will fuck who I please when I please and I don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks about it.

The resident makeup guru Latina Rose has posted a few tutorials:

My basic routine is a to do a light shade all over (champagne, light pink, ect) then to pair it with a slightly darker color in the same family on the lid, and then again an even darker similar color in the crease to make it "pop".

What shape are your eyes and what color?

Dark eyed girls look good with purples - Green eyed ladies, browns and coppers.

Blue? You can wear blue shadow or pigment, just don't pick out the sixties sharp lines of vivd blue. Browns, coppers and desert colors good good with blue eyes.

Are you tan or fair? What color is your hair, your want to be pretty and sexy. Not look like a clown

Blend, blend blend.. Light on the lid, right next to your lashes. A little against the browbone. Main color on the lid itself and in the crease, blending it up to the eyebrow.

In the crease itself put the dark color, blend this in WELL, so you wont look scary

Latina Rose has some awesome pictorials on color schemes and how to's.

    Hope this helps

however, if you're a newb to makeup, you should try learning the basics before you learn what the tutorials say... i am pretty good at makeup, but sometimes blending is soooooo hard!

    Agreed,

Good products and awesome brushes. I have badger hair brushes. Fabulous! And the one I use to blend is a round angled brush. It's a round shape and the bristles are cut at an angle.

Swirly round circles, gently. Eye skin is tender, no need to be mean.

Here's a good thing for newbies at eyes - take a bit of black tied ( mac color ) on your fluffy brush. PAT it gently in your eye's corner. BLEND over across your lid. Add more to the crease to suit and blend again, it's a nice sultry look if you add liner and lashes.

    Easy!

Also this is very forgiving. If you go to far or mess up - take a bit of your base on a sponge and swipe it out. I keep sponges just for this.
