Well, I'm a blonde as well, and I've gone red many times. Main problem? The color won't stick, especially in light hair. Mine faded so fast that it was depressing, it'd be hot one day, and orangey or pink a couple weeks later. I think the cut is really cute. The red would be hot too, but keep in mind, it fades really really fast.

I LOVE being a redhead! I do have to dye it frequently to keep it glossy, shiny, and bright...but it is sssoooo worth it. That's a beautiful color, too. I like the style, if your hair is already short. I say go for it!![]()

i dont like it. but i dont think red hair looks good on many people. as for the the cut.. well, i like long hair, lol. i dunno, i think you have pretty hair.
Lol. I like long hair to...but my long hair is comming to a quick end. I just had the maintence priced...it's gonna be $400 plus the cost of more hair, because it's shedded so much. The cost of more hair is gonna be at least $100.
I can't spend $500 on my hair right now. Not a stripper anymore....
Plus..that will only last 2 months, and it will be time for another $500. I can't do it. Way way to expensive.
My hair is starting t look thin and raggedy, and I have to make a decision soon. I absolutly refuse to be the girl with bad looking extensions.
I think you're a smoking blonde, but you'd be a smoking redhead too. Your natural color is so light it might not stick, but I think you should go for a warm light cinnamon color if you do it. It would go beautifully with your skin.
Redheads are sexy. Yes, you should be one.
I love this color..so rich and pretty. I wonder if it would be to dark for my skin? Maybe if I added in more blonde highlights to lighten it up a bit...

That's gorgeous. That's the shade my hair is.
Have you considered henna? It's what I use. It doesn't fade - at all. Ever. Plus it's natural and you won't damage your hair.

For a few years I was a red head, it always faded so quickly on me (but I always used color out of a box) so I could never just do root touch-ups, I'd have to constantly redo my entire head. The big problem was when I decided I didn't want to be a red head anymore, no matter what hairdressers did (and I went to a lot!) a copper color always remained. It's finally almost grown out completely!
I love the LL color in that pic. I think it would look very pretty on you. Maybe you could put chunks of highlights of that color in your hair and see if you like it-then dye it completly?
You could go to a color expert hair dresser to get the right shade...that is what I did when I made the move from medium brown to blond! Two years later and I still love being blond. I think it'd be fun.

Oh god yes! I'm totally on an auburn kick right now... it's my mission to find the perfect copper tone for all my clients who are willing to do it!
I would reccomend against henna because it doesn't mix well with any professional services you may want in the future. If you're worried about any damage to the hair and you want to go darker or stay the same lightness but change your tone, use a demi permanent color. They don't contain ammonia and do not damage the hair.
I agree that seeing a colorist is the best thing to do. If your hair is really light, you'll need to fill it with it's missing pigments in order to get any darker color to last, look natural, and be brilliant.

Here's the thing with being red, if you're going to be red, it's sooooo much easier to do it all over (sans the blonde highlights or vice versa with red as lowlights) because of the frequent necessity for touch-ups. Basically, trying to rematch everything is a big pain in the butt and not only a pain in the butt, but a very very frequent pain in the butt. Plus, also the red color depositing shampoos that are highly recommended, well, it's kind of impossible to not go over the blonde parts and turn them funky. So most red/blonde combos I've seen have used some extension pieces to finish the look. Like if you want red lowlights, you're life would be so much easier just putting in the red extension pieces throughout the bottom layers. Plus, extension pieces don't fade (at least not that I've seen).
If I remember correctly you've had extensions before. But I'm not sure if you've since decided not to get them anymore. Anywho, I'm pretty similar to you. Always blonde, then wanted red. I found out how much work it is. So I went back blonde and luckily ended up with a decent blonde again. Not everyone gets so lucky going back up though.
On going red: my old hairdresser (when I was a redhead) told me to go buy some cherry kool-aid (not the kind with sugar in it though) and add about 1/3 of a pkg to a handful of shampoo about once a week and use to wash to refresh color between root touch ups. Worked like a charm for me until I got tired of red and went blonde. Inexpensive too, and didn't damage may hair any more than the dye did....at least I don't think it did.
^ a little late, caue I AM a redhead now...but
I tried the cherry koolaid once in highscool. It stained my blonde hair pink, and never washed out. I had pink hair for years until it grew out.
