| Hiring Tips: It's easy. I walked in at 11 pm my first night and they put me to work that night! |
Additional Information
When a friend of mine got the idea to go to Austin for a couple nights, I jumped at the opportunity to try out an Austin club. I love trying out new clubs in new cities. It's easy for me to get bored being in the same place night after night.
The first place I went was Yellow Rose, but their hiring manager apparently wasn't in that night. My friend and I had vague directions to various different clubs and we got lost a bunch of times. So, long story short, I ended up at XTC of all places.
I got there at 11 pm, but they asked me if I wanted to start that night. So I did. The hiring process was a little more involved than I like. I like the clubs that copy my ID and that's it, but XTC has a stack of papers you have to go through and sign a bunch of stupid waivers and such. Obviously this club has been in trouble in the past. I know a little bit about the XTC chain and they don't have the best reputation.
My first night was a Monday night. By the time I got on the floor it was about midnight, so I only worked about two hours. I made $113. The place was very full. My second and last night, Tuesday night, I made $157 and the place was less full, stage 3 never even opened. A good crowd none the less.
They don't like to play hip-hop there, but they'll play all the heavy metal you want! I liked that.
I had never worked nude before, but I enjoyed myself.
The customers tend to be young and therefore obnoxious. The club badly needs to be cleaned. The floor and chairs are dirty. Eww.
The managers all wear suits, and that makes the place look a little nicer. One of the managers is really hot; he looks like Seth Cohen's dad on The OC. One of the bouncers looks like Russell Crowe. Yummy.
When I got hired, they told me they were going to put an "under 21" band on my wrist, but they never did. Actually, as soon as I got on the floor my first night one of the managers took me over to a table and introduced me to some customers and handed me a shot of crown. Ha!
The customers aren't supposed to touch, but the dancers can grind on them and such during dances. The whole one-way touching thing. The place is usually crowded enough that the guy can do a little touching without a manager noticing and getting mad. The managers are kind of young and tend to be hotheaded.
I only had a customer in the VIP once and it made me somewhat uncomfortable because managers kept walking in.
There are three stages. Stages 1 and 2 each have one HUGE steel "pole". These are not regular stripper poles. You cannot do anything with them. You can't even grasp them, they are so big around. They're more like pillars than poles. They SERIOUSLY need to replace those with standard stripper poles. Stage 3 has no pole. I like to do pole work, so these gigantic steel pillars were the main reason I didn't like the club.
I got to go on stage several times a night, which I liked. It's a medium-sized club. The main reason I don't like large clubs is because I only get to go on stage a couple times a night. Stage is fun!
