I've been working on and off at yellow rose for around 7 months, never really AMAZED by the club. I fit the gentlemens club "type", no tats, slim, I do my best to fit the male gaze. The poles light up and one can stand on the base which is nice but not so much tipping for the badass poles as one would hope. Three night shift managers on a WEEK night; and the night DJ Kyle is nice but is adament about WHEN you need to take off your top and you'll be on stage a LOT during the night even if there is a lack of tips, so maybe 6-9 songs each time you are called to stage. Extras kind of seem to be accepted by management and I've had two linebacker built "baddies" walk into my VIP booth and steal my customer while I'm there. The VIP manager Kenzie is in on this and allows favorites to do this so it pisses me off. Not my favorite but this is a club where older gentlemen frequent, lunch breaks are taken from Firefighters to Austin Judges.

Audition: To audition, you gotta pay an “audition fee” which is $40, so you go in show your ID, pay your $40 (upfront), they do a mini orientation then you work a six hour shift. At the end of the shift they tell you if you’re hired and whether or not there’s a time you need to be in by. Management: Kenny is a rapist. He hangs out off shift, assaults the strippers who don’t yet know he’s a manager, so watch out. He’s in more as a customer than a manager he sits next to the dj booth. Eddie is the gm, he is the one telling you yes/no for getting hired. He will record your stage when you’re not looking, he will grab your ass without permission, and feeds free shots to the 21 year olds who don’t know better. Butter up Ricky especially if you’re poc and/or tattooed, bc otherwise you’ll be stuck on the 8 o clock shift. Strippers: The majority of strippers at this club are under twenty five and have not worked at any other strip club. They will talk shit, but generally are more annoying than harmful. They’re not strong hustlers, they mostly wait around to go on stage. The dressing room is super small, so get in early. Staff: VIP hosts are super slow, will cockblock you from rooms if they don’t like you, and will give customers your real info if they know it. Expect them to bully your customers for tips and steal change. If you can, get the dude to pay you ahead of time with cash. For bartenders and waitresses none of them know how to bartend or waitress. The security guy Dev is incredibly creepy, inappropriate, aggressive, and pervy. The parking lot is unsafe-customers can (and have) follow you out from the front door to your car. They frequently hang out in the parking lot as well. This isn’t his first security job. Be careful of the djs, they will extort you. Avoid their creepy photographer. If you have any sort of confrontation with a customer staff will always undoubtedly take the customers side. Any issues you have are best handled on your own, however if the customer in question brings staff in expect to be yelled at on the floor. Customers: The customers are primarily under 40, frat boy types. One of the owners of yellow rose sponsors the kill tony show (a republican podcast), so the majority of the men coming in are from that. Managers also gave footage to nerdballertv, which has also brought in a lot of a similar demographic. Basically, they’re young incel types. Spring break was great for bachelor parties, however it’s been downhill since. YR has become a popular hang out spot for college age (non stripping) women to hang out, and pick up men. So, expect to see a lot of women. Staff isn’t checking ids, so there’s a lot of underage minors coming in (lol wtf am I right?)On top of that, staff is somewhat aware bc the nerdballertv that staff actively worked with has advertised the face that he’s 18. Personally I would recommend targeting bachelor parties, and would give this place a shot during spring (March-May). I would avoid this place during the week (even during spring), and instead focus on weekends because it gets no traffic during the week (only bar regulars). Out of towners will pay 3 for $100, or one for $40 but make sure you don’t get caught. Stage ranges from ok-good depending on how entertaining you are. There’s a pimp problem here-they all hang out beside/in front of the dressing room. Overall: ok money if you live there and/or are in the area, however I would not travel here. Don’t believe the hype, a lot of these strippers are Instagram strippers lol. This place is honestly an absolute shitshow but like not in the normal ways lol thank god I got out when I did. If you have to make this place work it can be done, but if you don’t have to I wouldn’t. There are better places to work in texas.

This is one of the best clubs in Austin IMO, right off of Lamar Blvd can't miss it near all the shops & highways. This club is always busy on the weekends, decent handful of customers during the week. Summer is the best season, lots of events here in Austin to bring international travelers. Nov-Xmas is the slow season, not worth it for travel dancers. You can get hired easily as long as you have a smile on your face, a good attitude and look cute. They want you to have your house fee when you walk in the door once your on a working schedule, but it is walk-in basis no mandatory shifts. Dress code is simple, no gowns or anything like that. Most of the managers have been working there for 20+ years, and are laid back, but you have to be aware. There is one/two you have to watch out for, they like to boss the girls around and will fire you over the slightest thing, even for an attitude. They are not too friendly here with the girls and will make sure they treat you like they own you at this club, that is a warning. Seen plenty of girls get fired just for having an attitude/making a customer, "unhappy". Just keep to yourself here and don't get too friendly with management, they are not on your side. Other than that, on a good night if your a good hustler & sexy you can make 700+ on weekends. Weekdays are not as busy.

updating my review since i've worked here a while. they play a good mix of music with plenty of hip hop, rap and throwback jams. it's definitely a party vibe. the crowd can get a little rough after 2am but security is pretty good. they don't patrol dances though, but that's everywhere in austin. same with stage... six songs in a row is rough but that's not uncommon here. they don't do stage auditions, just body checks. some girls are great on the pole but you don't have to be (i'm not). they seem to encourage female customers, which is annoying. thursdays are ladies nights. bobby and jason are AWESOME managers.. both used to work at palazio. like i said they don't patrol handsy customers but if you ever need help getting paid or dealing with an unruly asshole, they have your back. house fees are pretty cheap, like 20-40. unless i make a lot of money i usually just throw 20 to the DJ and 20 to the manager and that's it. cabanas/VIP are whatever you want to charge, but the average is 500/hr. it's a private booth with a sheer curtain and i've never personally witnessed any extras. they are strict with their hiring standards but also more diverse at the same time, which is nice. they have a lot more alternative girls (like suicide girl types) and WOC than other clubs in town. overall it's a pretty solid club. weekdays are hit or miss but weekends are always good and busy.

They are very selective about the dancers they hire. It is possible to make money on stage if you do frightening pole moves and have a huge ass, but otherwise, don't count on your six song sets to bring home the bacon. All the money is in lapdances. When I started here in 2010, it was pretty easy to keep customers' hands off me, but the place has become more lax, and now people will touch you without asking, just when you sit down to talk with them. I have had people try to finger me right off the bat, I've had people lift me off the ground like a rag doll. Management does not care, and they do not enforce the rules. They encourage customers to drink themselves to oblivion and regress 20-60 years in maturity. We have grown men acting like kindergarteners. Not very cute. There is virtually no security here. I gave this club two points because of the nominally larger income you can make here than at other Austin clubs, but it's at a cost to your dignity in many cases. I will never go back to this club.

This club is where the money is just not for me. Austin loves its white girls and I'm just not that and dont want to be but money can be earned. The dancers are 10's the managment is detached and the customers are wealthy. If I were a skinny blonde i'd be bank rolling in this place but I'm not so I dont. There is an African American dancer who makes alot of money but she is a serious hustler and has worked there for a long time. Expect to be judged harshly these girls are like playboy types. The energy of this club is good. I was suspended because I "needed to lose weight" but I've never been told to do this before by any club in any city. So they like em thin at this club. If you are in "good" shape I would try this club. There are alot of dancers working here and it is hard to slide into the list but try and try again if you must.

Uh...what was I thinking coming back here? Asked myself that over and over again. This place has sure slid downhill since it's heyday. They run dance specials and drink specials all the time now to try to get guys in, to no avail. 10 dollar dances ALL DAY until 8, and then they run hourly two for one dances after that...most guys seemed to be waiting for the 2 for 1 to come back around or trying to negotiate the girls to keep doing 10 dollar dances. drink specials are 3 dollar ANYTHING all night after 8. brings in quite a cheap crowd from what I could see. Whatever they are trying to do, it's not working, I didn't see any more guys come through the door. Sometimes there were more dancers on the floor than guys. What's up with that? Seems like this place is more of a local hangout/cheers kind of bar now than a gentleman's club now. Shame. Not enough guys buying dances. Lots of girls have left. Only a handful (maybe 5-6) of the good looking hustlers that I remembered were still there. Asked about some of the others, and heard they went to Houston to work at Treasures, or Vegas, and a some were in Dallas (lodge, silver city) now too. Too bad :-( I was back in Austin for a couple of weeks...and suffice to say, I won't be back. Not to work anyways. Lots of girls in the back were saying that they only made about 200, and some of them were leaving with less than 100. Yikes. Customers are pretty grabby, but as the previous girl said they will stop if you tell them to...but then you won't be getting another dance either. Management is kinda crappy. The new mgr. on Monday was WAY too flirty for my tastes, if you know what I mean. Heard in the back how a lot of girls couldn't stand him, and I can see why. The managers also stand by the door asking girls to TIP them on their way out. And saw a couple of girls hassled when they didn't cough up enough. One hispanic girl had a guy not pay her for two dances, and these guys coulda cared less. They didn't even go up to the guy, and he was just allowed to walk out w/out paying. Why even have managers there?? There are lots of other clubs to work at in TX which will make you more money w/ lots less hassle (and no dance specials!). Heck in Austin, your time is better spent at P-10 or Sugars, I guess. Weekends are good at P-10, the management is pretty cool, and you won't be stuck in a cheers like bar, with guys from around town hanging out and not buying dances. When I would do a dance count on the floor of how many girls were getting a dance , I would see about 3-4 girls dancing on the floor during the week, and about 5 or so getting a dance on Fri. Sat. Not that many when you consider that they have about 40-50 (sometimes up) girls working there total. House fees were average for TX. About 30 depending on what time you get there. You also must tip out DJ (standard) but also here they like you to tip out the bar and from what I could see the managers expected about 10 at least. A lot of guys now know that if we get a water or dancer drink they will be paying part of our house fee, and so they won't want to buy them when you try to order one now. Some of the waitresses told me that they "don't do dancer drinks" at their tables - In front of the customers. Sigh. I was stuck ordering alcohol, and pouring it out in the back.

*I only know about night shift. House fee is dependent on what time you arrive. If you are on the floor before 7:30 your house fee is $15. Before 8 is $30, it increases up to after 10pm $65 with manager permission. *Club is open until 2am Sunday through Thursday, 3am Friday and Saturday. *House mom is great but she is only there thursday-saturday. *Three stages with a stationary pole, a set is two or three songs on one stage only. It varies depending on how many girls are there, but you usually go up once every 1.5 hours or so, if you don't buy off. *There is no VIP/champagne room but there is a VIP section, which is just a darker area of the club with booths and nicer chairs. There are a fair amount of booths now, that seat anywhere from 2-12 people. Higher mileage is expected at the booths, mainly in the form of face-to-face straddling, which would get you yelled at if you did it on the main floor, but not in a booth. *Customers will try to touch your ass/boobs/kitty unless specifically told not to, but will not be suprised when you say no (unless they are from houston ;)) *Get a guy to buy you a bottle of water or a juice and you get $2 off your house fee (provided the waitress remembers to turn in your ticket) *The club plays a lot of hiphop and top forty, with a little classic rock now and then. *Tuesdays are 2-for-1s until 10pm *Dressing room has a small nonsmoking area and a larger smoking area. There are a fair amount of lockers and mirrors, a sink, a toilet, and a tiny icky shower. There are cameras all over it with sound so theft is not really a problem, but you should still bring a lock. *Door girls are nice and will tell you anything else you need to know! Or PM me with more questions.

apologies to susan

Yellow Rose is a nice place to work with low tipouts starting at $20 house, $10 manager, and at least $10 for DJ. Easy to sell dances with one way contact. Average money is 400-800 shift. Girls are average looking with a few hotties here and there. More girls work the night shift. No Schedule though they like you to work 6-7 hour shift.

Working here from 1997- 2000 was a breeze. I could easily make $800+ on a Friday from 2pm - midnight. What sucks about the daytime were $10 dances, but sometimes it's a blessing in disguise. Nighttime was great and I could easily depend on $300+ night; which is alot since I came in @ 10pm and got on the floor @ 10:30pm. The only thing that SUCKS HARDCORE are the management. If Don "DK" King sees you grinding on a guy's lap, he will pull you aside and tell you not to do that. BUT IF HIS FRIEND grab your ass and grinds it to their crotch - it's "OK" -- no matter how much yelling you are doing to get the management to tell him to stop! He is moody and will instantly fire you if you do something meagerly stupid. He will also make you cry. Stay away from him at all cost!! He will try to be your friend and will want to go out in the limo for special events, then when you make him mad, it's all hell. He tries to keep the club clean but yet tarnished the Yellow Rose's reputation by doing HBO's "Real Sex 25". When I first saw that I was completed disgusted as he represented us as sluts... but then I realized that they filmed it @ Austin's Hippie Hollow. So anyway, like I said... $$$$$ to be made in the club -- easiest $$$$$ club I've worked @ in 9 years of being a dancer... but like I said-- STAY AWAY FROM THE MANAGEMENT AND ALL WILL BE GREAT!!!
