Additional Information
It's really hard for me to give this club either a high or low rating because while it doesn't have that great of a name and it has fallen off quite a bit since when I first started in mid 2007, still, so far out of all of the places I've worked in Atlanta, as a pretty black girl I've had the easiest time and made the most consistent money here overall. The good: 1. There is no schedule whatsoever. You have to either work Mon. or Tues. in order to work Fri. or Sat., but if you don't work you simply pay $20 extra either Friday OR Saturday, and you're fine. 2. House fees are low as hell. Flat rate of $35 if you sign in by 8pm, and that covers DJ as well, so none of that DJ price gouging crap some of them like to pull. 3. There are multiple shifts to choose from. I've made 500+ on dayshift. I've made $600+ on nightshift. And on Fri-Sun they have an afterhours where you can sign in at 1am and stay all the way til 8am. I've made money then as well. Options never hurt anybody. 4. The club is huge, and so is the dressing room. Tons of lockers, tons of counter space. I know it's not good practice, but when it's really slow I'll sometimes take time out and do my homework in the dressing room until it gets better, and I always have a chair and ample counter space to do so. Some clubs you don't even have room to turn around in the dressing room, so I like that. 5. Management is cool. They really don't bother you at all unless you do something really bad. I've never had any problems, and every issue I've ever had has been resolved immediately. 6. VIP is pretty protected and you can set your own prices for the most part. Standard is $20 per song, for 30 minutes that comes out to about $200. I've charged less and more and never had any problems back there. 7. If you want to leave early it's a $20 fee, no questions asked... ever. You just hand them $20 and walk out the door. 8. I'm sure extras do occur, but it's not extras-ridden. The bad: 1. When it's slow, it's SLOW. While I've made $600+ some nights, I've also had nights where I've seriously tried to hustle and left with $50. This never happened to me before the economy got bad, so I won't blame it on the club entirely, but it still happens periodically and it sucks ass. 2. It's in Decatur, and many of the customers are locals. It can be kind of hood. It took me a while to adjust my hustle. 3. Dances are $5 all the time. Sometimes you get rained on, sometimes stages are AWESOME, but if none of the above takes place, you can either $5 dance your way to hundreds of dollars which is a LOT of work, or you can spend 8hours NOT doing $5 dances, which IMO is a lot worse. Dances are genuinely easy to sell though. Usually it's decent. 4. The girls are ghetto as all fuck, and they really don't have many (if any) physical requirements. IMO girls who should not be stripping can come work at PinUps. As a result, you get a club that doesn't have that great of a reputation... I mean I've never been proud to say I worked at PinUps.
