Additional Information
This was the first club I danced at and I like it for the most part. The girls and DJs are nice and most of management is as well. The older waitresses and some of the bartenders can be kind of snotty if you aren't one of their friends but I've never had any big problems.
I like the atmosphere. It's kind of sports bar and we don't play hip-hop. There's a lot of rock, more classic rock during the day but some techno-ish stuff and hard rock (Marilyn Manson, Korn, Nine Inch Nails, stuff like that) and a lot more techno at night.
We get a lot of locals but we're around a few hotels too so there's a pretty decent flow of out-of-towners ( a lot in the oil business) so that's usually good.
Dances are always $20. There are 4 stages, 1 or 2 open until like 7 and almost always 2 open after 7. 3rd stage only gets opened on Thu-Sat nights and I've only seen 4th stage open like once or twice.
One thing that bugged me here is not being able to leave when you want. You don't tip out managers or bartenders or DJs but pay certain door fees for certain shifts and you canNOT leave before your shift is over (unless something REALLY important comes up - vomiting, someone who shouldn't see you dancing comes in - like your dad's coworker, other things). I'm not completely sure these fees are correct but this is what I think they are
10:30 - 4:00 $22
2:00 - 10:00 $22
4:00 - 12:00 $28
after 5 you can't leave till 2:00 a.m. when we close
at 7:00 it's $38 and I don't know how much it goes up after that
Most of the intimes on the shifts give you like an hour after they "start" to get in there and still leave at the out time.
What else? Oh yeah, one thing that really bothered me recently and is the reason I'm looking for a new club now - they just redid our VIP room (I don't know how much a membership costs but if you buy a bottle of wine or champagne - they're almost half off before 7 p.m. - you get to go back there). The VIP used to be booths that you could see across the top of, 2nd stage looked into the room, and it was dimly lit but you could still see. They just put up WALLS inbetween the booths and they swear they're getting adjustable lighting put in all of them but in the meantime, there is only 1 little votive candle on the table. You can't see ANYTHING and I don't know how they expect us to say we're "dancing" when the guy wouldn't even be able to see you. They're also going to put curtains on the booths. I do not feel comfortable with that at all. We usually don't do any dances on the floor, we either go with the person to VIP if they're a member or go back to the sports bar where there are more booths. I heard they're going to put curtains on all of the booths, forcing us to dance on the floor if we don't want the customer expecting more than a dance.
That's the Colorado. It's been a great place to work with nice people and I never really ran into drugs but who knows what'll happen now.
