Additional Information
I VIP'ed at this club for two weeks while I was up in Kamloops. Worked 9:30pm-midnight daily, on the floor, Monday-Thursday (camping on the weekends!). This club is mainly a stage club- they just built a VIP room (which is just a cutained off fire escape with a red light, barcalounger and a CD player). Dances are $30 minimum, $10 to the house. So I was the first freelancer here, and let me tell you were they ever RUDE to me! The staff, I mean. Just bloody awful- the worst I've ever been treated. The manager seemed nice- I talked to her on the phone, and she told me to go in around 9:00 on the night I wanted to start. Never saw her in person though. So I went in the next night, and the staff had no idea what was going on or what to do with me. When they finally got it sorted, I changed in the customer bathrooms and stowed my stuff behind the bar and set to work. $$-wise, it was up & down. Best night $300, worst $70 (1st night), mostly btwn $150-200. I was fine with that- it was only 2.5 hours. But the staff! So there's Curtis, behind the bar, who has little-man syndrome or something. He was such a...cunt is the only word to describe it. He powertripped and threw attitude around and talked about how lucky I was that HE let me work there! AND I know he was stealing my payout money- he started being SO sucky nice when I started bringing in money. He was also rude to the stage dancers, in my observation, but very nice to the customers. Dawn, the bar manager, was OK a lot of the time- she just ignored me, which was cool. But you could tell she thought I was giving bjs in the back or something (she could have just checked!), and kept laying dumb rules on me. The worst was that I couldn't do a dance when someone was on stage. Not being allowed to hustle near the stage, I can understand, but she expected me to stop dances if I was in there if a girl went on stage! That left me 20 minutes between shows to hustle and do my dances! The rest were OK- a blond waitress in particular, can't remember her name- Char? She was cordial, at least. That's about all I ask of people I work with. Customers at the club were on the whole pretty great! There was a stag or birthday in almost every night, and besides the ever-present snot-nosed cheapos, I met a lot of great guys. There IS money in this town. Anyways, that's my review- the money was fine by me- especially considering it was a club unaccustomed to dances in a small town. I think the potential for $300-400 a night steadily is there for a girl who can handle the friggin' staff. I can't.
