First off, I enjoy working here a shitton. Admittedly it is my first club, but based off visiting the others in auckland CBD i can say its one of the bigger ones. This club no longer has the segregation between angels and other dancers as there is no choreographed shows. there are still some of the uniforms around (still unflattering imo) but they belong to the girls that have been working there for multiple years, and i believe they have discontinued them. however, there are now two categories of dancers again; strippers and podium. strippers do their own show with their own music, and on weekends in the intermission between strippers is when podium girls walk up the cat walk, across the stage and up onto the podiums along the walls. (they dance for around 3 songs) Strippers can do lap dances; podium girls cannot sometimes in the intermission DJ will call "girls on pole" which means every girl in the room (not getting changed or in lapdances) walks up the catwalks and onto the poles/stage. management is intense to say the least, but i adore my boss. the club is still without a doubt run with an iron fist. the management at the moment is all ladies, aside from the two dj's (who also act as security.) fees/payment: general shift fee is around $30 and a girl gets a 60% cut of the non + touching (so non touching price say $100 and touching is double that, so girl would get $60 + 100) other than this there are a lot of fines you must be wary of (but once you get the hang of it, youre sorted.) these include going for a break without ringing, wearing your hair up, taking your shoes off, having too long of a break too often, not handing in your mobile phone (you arent allowed them while working) being late etc, with not showing up being very very drunk at work being bigger a fine of around $100. you can leave early/ arrive late but you will be fined $20 - 30 per half hour (up to $180? i think) the main room is set up with a bar along the back wall where you enter the room, with a stage along the opposite side of the wall with a catwalk running off of it (tip rail along catwalk.) on either side of the stage are sections with three poles the two at the front are thinner than the average pole, and are the only spinning poles in the club. (must beware of these because if you are spinning if you lean too far out you can hit your head on the wall or on the other pole.) the pole at the back is thicker than average and doesnt spin. along each side of the room, connected to the stage are 3 podiums with average sized poles for the podium girls to dance on. up one level is the nude pool (billiards) rooms, corporate bar & smoking deck up another is the lapdance rooms The environment at work is a good, positive atmosphere, where the girls all support each other to make tips, instead of fighting against each other as rivals, at most its friendly competition. In my experience, there is a group that have been working here for many years (the aforementioned girls with the uniforms) that do more complicated tricks on pole & stage, as well as running the 'set ups' (for stag do's, the guy is pulled on stage and embarrassed with various acts) these girls will be friendly to you, but are more tight knit with eachother. there are dancers that have been there in the medium term, and a lot of newbies that come through Lapdance rooms are filled with lights, a couch, and in some a sloping bit of the roof (which is nice to grab onto sometimes when you dance.) they tend to be one bigger room separated into two with big curtains (that can be opened for a bigger group of people) although there is a special room with big, leather couches and chairs for those bigger groups. Customers really do vary. i tend to work on the weekends where theres more girls, more customers, and more alcohol than on the weekdays. [/html]

I feel bad because this will be the first negative review this club has got - but i couldn't not give my opinion! I worked up at this club again only a couple of weeks ago, the club is undergoing a few changes which will make it a bit more difficult for casual dancers to come and work. At this club there are two sorts of dancers - the "Angels" and the normal dancers. The Angels are basically the girls who come in during the day to learn choreographed routines. They are long-term dancers at the White House therefore if you are a visitor to Auckland you will simply be lumped in with the normal dancers. Management is changing the show so that it consists of mainly the angels doing their special routines throughout the night and the normal dancers only getting up as a group to give the angels a break. However in saying that, when there are not many customers, or not many angels, the normal dancers will be called up to do a spot on stage on their own. I got called up to do this only once in a 10hr shift when there were only 6 customers in the club, so it wasn't exactly a profitable spot! Basically if you are a normal dancer you have less opportunity to make tips from stage work but more opportunity to hustle the crowd for lap dances. You have to wear a two-piece stars and stripes uniform when dancing at the White House. This must be worn almost all the time - around the club, in lap dances etc. The club charges $150 to buy the uniform or you can rent it out for the period of time your working. If you're a normal dancer when you get up for your spot with all the other girls you must wear the White House bikini. This, you have no choice but to buy and will set you back $50. I found the uniform VERY unflattering and too conformist, it was very hard to distinguish the girls and their different personalities since everyone had to wear the same thing. The stage is very big (reminded me of a stage at a theatre) with absolutely no poles on it at all and a catwalk leading off it. As a result the dancing consists of what you can do without a pole and seemed to be a lot of explicit spreading etc. I found the customers expect quite high mileage for giving the girls a mere two dollar tip and the girls weren't afraid to give it to them either. I guess I was just a bit shocked at the amount of touching the customers are allowed to do in the main club. There are two sets of three poles off to the sides of the stage. They are very close together, making it impossible to do most pole tricks. Girls dance for three songs and must be fully nude for the last song. The girls receive 100% of their tips and approximately 50% of the fee for lap dances and playing nude pool. You can also get booked out for the night (not sure what the club pays the girl for that though). I found the lap dance set up was good for the club but not so much for the girl - just one example was I got booked out for two hours straight but only made $180 - I know for a fact you can work many other places in NZ and not have to spend two hours with a customer to make that sort of money! The lap dances are all held up three flights of stairs in an enclosed room with special key access. There are cameras in the rooms for security, but the fact that you have to spend so much time with a customer for so little money made me feel really cheap and like I was selling myself short. There are lots of rules at this club - management runs this place with an iron fist and seem to always know where you are - this can be good and bad! There are also a lot of fines. Some of the stranger rules are - you have to wear your hair out at all times, you are not allowed to receive a back massage from customers in the main club, you have to ring and ask management if you want to eat anything. WTF!!!! The dressing room is constantly monitored - if management believe you have spent too long in the dressing room (too long = more than 3 songs) you will be ordered back into the club, if it happens repeatedly you will be fined. Basically if you ring and ask management before you do ANYTHING you should be ok. Shifts run from 8-6am every night but Sunday when the club does not open. If you want to leave early you must pay a fine of $100 = one of the girls asked if she could leave with only one hour to go and she still had to pay $50! If you are an angel you get a better deal - if there are not many customers you get to leave early leaving the other normal girls to keep the show running until 6. Nevertheless despite all the crazy rules the girls are really friendly and make anyone feel welcome. A lot of the girls seem to go out with the staff - apparently this is management's way to keep the top girls working for them! I feel The White House is more of a cabaret strip bar with not much of a chance to show your own unique personality. So many rules make you feel like you are walking on ice most of the time. There is however, a good chance you will make reasonable money here (it is Auckland and a lot of people do come through this club). However the long hours and criminal prices for dances etc make it VERY hard work. I believe you can make just as much if not more working shorter hours at some other establishment and actually have fun doing it! In saying that I will not be working there again.

The Whitehouse is the most popular club for dancers to work at in Auckland. You have the oppourtunity to become a NZ Angel and travel to New Caledonia where we have another club, and it is expanding fast. We also have a club in Wellington called Liks.A group of girls have recently toured through Tahiti, and we have toured South Africa too. The NZ Angels do fully correographed shows, and work together as a team. A real family atmosphere. It is not a must to become an Angel, you can just work as a regular dancer, but I reccomend trying it out, it is the best thing I have ever done. ;D
