i worked at MGS for 6 months a couple years back. i found the hustle very hard. although i was new to dancing. i think you have to be a very good hustler to do well in this club. agree with the first review: there are favourites (showgirls) who don't have to pay their fines and can pretty much wear what they want. you have to go on stage EVERY hour for 15 mins and if you get a hour booking (meaning you can't make your stage) you have to pay a $50 fine. so you have 40 mins an hour to try and get dances and do your dance!! (not that i got even one 1 hour booking there) expected to buy $250 outfit so you end up looking like clones... as a new girl when i was there it was hard to stand out. hated mens promised myself i would never go back. on the good side you choose when you want to work and you can arrive when you want. they sell food. they have a couch in change room.

Awful management who have favourites ( the girls that are showgirls) and treat other girls like crap. They charge very high fees for calling in sick even if u message and tell them and show them hospital certificates. The favourite dancers get jealous and catty very easily and work with the management to ensure that any new girls that seem more desirable or better looking will quit so they can retain their 'elite' status. Over 150 girls work on nights where there is barely 100 customers all night. Week nights are notorious for having over 60 dancers on when it's completely dead. VIP is ridiculous, $400 an hour, which is $100 more expensive than paying as you go ($50 for 10min). Still no touching, and the VIP room consists of a huge open room which has a big round dinner table, 3 tiny couches and a bar that no one is ever at. Very hard to sell. On a positive, change rooms are large and some girls are sweet. Normally they don't stick around for long.also good that they sell tan, watches and costumes.

I worked at this club for one night and hated it. I have worked all over the world and found this club to be one of the most unfriendly. I didn't have any 'suitable' outfit and so they made me buy a dress! The girls were quite friendly but other staff were not and most of all and most significantly they looked bored. There was no dancing on the podiums just dull faces and swaying bodies. I dance because of the love of excitement (and obviously the $$$). For me this club lacked atmosphere making it difficult to have fun and therefore earn..

I've worked at MG for a while now and I love the way this place works! Caroline sends you an sms on mondays so you can send through your roster for the week (you choose when you want to work). You have to work 1 weekday and 1 friday or saturday each week. When you are working, you have to turn up between 5pm and 8pm (night shifts) unless you arrange a later time to come up. The earlier you come in, the earlier you get to leave. You can also arrange day shifts with Caroline (I think they start at 2pm). DRESS CODE: You need to wear a g-string and a matching bra. Your dress and lingerie need to be the same colour. There are people who sell dresses and lingerie who come in from thursday to saturday and you can always check with management if the things you are wearing are okay. MONEY: The house fee is $50 and you should expect to earn about 10 times that much in a night. On a Friday or Saturday you should expect to earn at least $700 if you stay on the floor. On weekdays it tends to be a bit more quiet (less than 20 customers inside the club is "quiet") and you may need to hustle more or actually talk to the customers. The dances are $50 for 10 minutes (the minimum is $20 but some girls refuse to do them unless it's really convenient).

Err, I meant on weeknights re: the longer hustle. Weekends you're fine (as long as you're bubbly and nice about it) to just offer dances straight up particularly later in the night. Oh, and backless dresses are definately allowed. My favourites are all backless!

I've been at MG for about 4 months and thought some things needed to be cleared up! Re: dress rules - yes they are particular in what you can wear and when. NB - actually, halterneck dresses are permitted, as are some patterns, glittery fabrics and lace. Where they are particular is with your underwear, the club requires that you wear a "string" g-string - no brazillian cut or bootie short panties. Your underwear set needs to match your dress (ie. no white underwear with your black dress) and patterns like leopard print, or sheer lace/fabric/mesh over your nipples or groin are generally not allowed. It pays to check with Michelle on weekends before you step out on the floor or buy something new. As far as dresses go you must wear a long gown (one or two piece) between 11pm and 1am. They don't allow 2 piece short dresses but you see alot of 2 piece long gowns some with only a bra top (matching fabric) and long skirt. They are particular with your shoes (no boots, even ankle boots, but anything else is fine) and must be a stiletto heel or near to. You don't have to wear a bra under your dress while you're prowling on the floor if you don't want to - just remember to put it back on before you hop up on a table and whip your dress off! I guess the thing to remember, appearance wise, is that it's a "gentleman's club" atmosphere. You will look out of place/slutty in anything too OTT anyway. The house fee is $50 which is waived if you are a showgirl and perform that night (ie. thursday, friday, saturday) or if it's your first night at the club. All dances are air dances though the club does allow you to take a customer's hands and hold them on your hips. There is a "dibber dobber" system with regards to private dances - someone (another dancer, security, mgmt) is always watching - which sounds bad but efffectively prevents snowballing and customers expecting more than they should. You will have trouble at MG if you want to allow customers to touch or kiss you, and IMO it doesnt affect your income if you don't allow touching at all. You are permitted to sit on the arm of the customer's chair during the dance, but never in their lap. You will see alot of girls leaning on customer safe areas (shoulders, knees) during a dance, even on table dances, if you're unsure what is borderline you can always run your moves past Michelle or one of the other girls. On weekends you will be rostered for table dancing and into Top 40 (like a cattle call, very strange and annoying roster wise, for a 2 minute trot around the showroom stage) and into Mega Personals (5 girls get rostered to do private dances for 5 customers on stage at once). You're expected to be on time for your tables, and if you're more than 5-7 minutes late (at the previous dancer's discretion) you are expected to pay the dancer $30 for wasting their time. Some people have major issues with this rule, but when it's busy and you're missing out on dances because you've been stuck on a table for the last 1/2 hour, you'll be putting your hand out too, fair's fair. Basically, the management is really supportive of the dancers. If a customer touches you, is rude, drunk, or making you uncomfortable - you are always backed up by security and management to end the dance and/or have them removed from the club. A good tip re: your arrival time - the earlier you get in, the earlier you can be rostered off. Showgirls get rostered off first, followed by first in, all the way down the list. Sun - Wed if you arrive between 5-6 you tend to leave by 2 or 3am, Thur - Sat if you arrive after 8pm you can expect to be there until close (6-7 or even 8am). ;D I really love working here, there's a good group of girls who are helpful and welcoming to newbies. As with any work place there are some people who are primadonnas, you figure out pretty quickly who you want to be around. You'll do best at MG if you're professional and stay up on the floor, not in the dressing rooms. It has been a long cold winter but you can still have good nights on weekdays and weekends, so long as you're on the floor - ready, willing and able. You get alot of 'late rush' especially on weekdays so worth thinking about staying for an extra hundred or two before close. You get what you give, so if you are respectful and courteous, and professional you'll do well. This applies to customers too, you can't get away with a quick hustle on weekends - they do expect a little conversation (2-3 minutes is fine) before you drop the line on them! Best person to contact re: employment is Caroline. That's about it! :P

8) mens gallery seems to be a bit of a dancers black hole so i thought i'd do my best to displace some of the myths.... ok, here goes.... mens gallery is full nude, no touching which is quite strictly enforced. The girls tend to have a policy of making management aware of girls who are offerring 'extras' during their dances (ie. touching etc) which is possibly why they have a rep for being a bit catty... they really aren't and they will help you and make you feel welcome as long as you don't blurr that line (as we all know, once one girl starts 'add-ons' it just snowballs to hell...). MG's has the latest liscence; they are open for lunch during the week and open at 6pm on the weekends. Sun- Wed they close at around 3am-4am, thursday nights nights at around 5am and fri and sat at around 7am. You are supposed to get in around 7pm and the earlier you arrive the earlier you will leave (as per most clubs) although there are no set start/finishing times (as a general rule if you arive at 7pm on a weekend you will be out around 4am, however you won't be required on the floor til ~9pm [if you want to work though you are most welcome]). House fee is $50 and you keep everything you make. Showgirls do not have to pay house fee and get priority early finish. Interstate showgirls are more than welcome (especially those with titles!) and i'm pretty sure you will be allowed to do shows straight away. MG's has two levels: downstairs only Sun-Wed and both levels the reat of the week. However upstairs closes a few hours prior to closing. Upstairs is a long show table with a pole at either end and two bars. At the back there are glass booths with couches and behind the dj console there is a largish room divided into various sized booths. Down stairs their is a main bar with two tables the middle one which has pole and a 'lounge bar' where private dances take place once upstairs is closed. There are also two pool tables downstairs. The clientele are very mixed; you get the groups of young guys/bucks etc but you also get older clientele and few $$$$ makers. On the weekends because of the sheer volume of patrons its very hustle 'hi, bye, wanna dance?'. Week days are a little more chilled and you have to talk the patrons, spend time with them etc. The great thing about mens gallery is IF YOU WORK HARD YOU WILL MAKE MONEY. naturally its seasonal etc but if you put in the hours and stay on the floor you will be rewarded; (on the weekend, don;t spend too long talking to the guys) Dances are $20/song though most of the girls try to flog the 3 songs for $50 routine (which is generally cut at 2.5 songs... shhhh... dont tell :) ) upstairs they do a 'mega personal' where they get usually 5-8 guys to sit up on the stage and you do a dance for $10. however you wont get more than one of these a night (if that) there is also a girl on girl mega at 2.15 where the club pays you $10 (10 girls). This generally revs up the crowd and dances flow a little more freely afterwards. OK, outfits; they are strict; you must wear a dress and a long dress between 11-1. no animal print, feathers or anything too tacky. also no boots, hats etc. Alot is made of htis but your not really disadvantaged by it cause everyones in the same boat. Showgirls are permitted to wear their show costume for an hour or two after their show Recently MG's have culled the number of tables so we are not doing as many per night which frees you up a bit (you will now generally have ~1.5 hours between tables). You must take off your dress within the first song when up on a table but there is no full strip (unless of course you are being paid and doing a table dance) thus no 'freebies' which makes patrons more willing to spend. Management: Management are fanatastic; true indutsry proffessionals. All the girls get treated equally (no playing favourites). thurs-sat; snacks are provided (sandwhiches, dip, etc) and there is tea, coffee juice etc. A hairdresser is also available on these days but you have to get in early to get a booking and a massuer comes in (although you do have to pay for his services). They do ask you to work one weeknight and one weekend but are generally pretty cool with girls coming by just for a week or two or only working one day (if you have work/school commitments) Well, i hope that helps! do give MG's a go; it really is a great safe clean club that takes care of you and if you've got a work ethic the $$$$$$ is pretty up there with the best.

to mermaidnz (reply post not working so posting a review), the girls at gallery aren't bitches. They are lovely. They will be horrible if you undermine their workplace by dancing in a way you shouldn't. And i don't know of a single dancer who would say that about a new girl, any expirienced dancer knows it takes time to learn how to make money in a new club. There are around 70 girls working on weekend night, i assure you we don't live in fear of any one girl "taking our money". I'm sorry if you didn't feel comfortable at men's gallery, but the girls who work there are intent on maintaining an industry standard of integrity and respect, in terms of how we conduct our dances and how we present ourselves. Men pay to have the ultimate fantasy by their side for 3/10/15/30 minutes, not the rejects of a britney clip. >:(

looked into working here. the club is very dark, has several tables which are danced on by rostered time. clothing........now this is very strict ( and one of the reasons i didnt work here!!) must wear a dress, it cant be too short, see thru,or have any patterning at all.you must then wear matching lingerie underneath.there for, no halter dresses, or backless dresses, or costumes may be worn. girls seemd bitchy as. Jackie the girl who was ment to show me the ropes of the club, basically told me " we are all bitches, we wont be nice to you, we dont like all these new girls coming in and taking our money" managment is good. the guy named dennis, is really nice and help-ful.
