'Bout time I finally sat down and pounded out a review for this place.

This was my first club ever. Before I knew how to hustle I'd make about $70 on weeknights, $200 on Fridays and Saturdays. Once I learned how to sell, it was more like $200 on weeknights, $300 on Thursdays, $400 and up on Fridays and Saturdays. My best night was $900 and something, but I know other girls that have broken $1000.

No house fees. No tip outs. You make your money from lapdances. Lapdances are $20, but make sure to casually mention that tips are usually $20 too. My spiel was "Ok baby, the rules are no touching private parts, tips are usually $20, and if I take my bottoms off I have to be three feet away from you." Then ask for the tip after the song.

If a customer wants a dance you actually have to walk to the lap dance room in the sister club, Tzers, at the other end of the plaza. That never bothered me much, but it can be cold outside in Binghamton. :) The club takes all of the money from your first lap dance and half of the next twelve dances you do (excluding tips!). You get to keep ALL the money after that.

Madame Oars is technically a pasty club but no one really bothers with them. Once every couple months or so the manager Joe will hold a meeting where he yells at the slackers and says to start wearing pasties, but it was never really enforced when I was there. Tzers, where you will occasionally have to work, is fully nude. If you want to work at Madame Oars you also have to work at Tzers, no exceptions that I know of.

Management is generally good. No one will look down on you or treat you like a dumb bitch for dancing. Manager can be a bit temperamental, but he does insist on clean dancing and actually appreciates it if you work hard, and is generally chill and friendly.

Both clubs have spinning poles. Whee!

It wasn't until after I moved away that I realized what a low stress, comparatively clean and lucrative place this was considering its slight diveyness. If I ever go back to stripping I will look for a place with a similar vibe. I will always have a soft spot for Madame Oars. Maybe I will go back some day and get the tank top.

I worked here for almost a year. I wasn't too fond of it. Good points: Easy-going and nice management Most of the girls are not catty, into drugs or otherwise problematic Competition is rarely fierce scheduling done weekly No dress code, must have bikini while on floor but otherwise whatever Bad points: Tip-out is first dance [$20] plus half of all dances after that. DJs will play what you want save for hardcore rap, however they don't know how to read a crowd or pump them up Poles are in disrepair, very slippery Most annoying, if you have to walk outside, past four store fronts, to do lap dances. Stage doesn't draw many tippers. Usually 10-20 customers a weekday night, 8-12 dancers. Weekends bigger crowds, not too many more dancers, 12-16 roughly. Must work all open hours for the day you are scheduled, unless you have another job/school/good reason. Most dancers ask for a $20 tip prior to a dance, as well.

I still have my face
I have not run away from home
Doesn't seem so long
If I now embrace
Every single thing I've never known"
