Additional Information
{ I personally do not recommend this club anymore. See my latest update in red near the bottom.....} Worked here for 3 weeks in July 2004. Personally, my time at this club was very rewarding. I decided to opt for the 3 week contract. Free airfare and accommodation. Contracts range from 1 week or longer. I recommend spending a fortnight - no longer. There is stage tipping and lap dances. Stage tipping can sometimes be more lucrative. $10 for topless show; $20 for nude show. Lap dances: $50 topless 15 mins; $70 nude 15 mins above waist - guided touching below waist; $100 15 mins two people/one dancer nude dance. The club is usually open Wednesday thru Saturday only... doors open from 8pm however you don't have to be ready "on the floor" until 8.30pm The club does have a "cap" to the no. of dancers: six. This guarantees you decent money. I made just over $2000 in my first week with my last (third) week being my worst with just over $1500. I will warn you... Dave, the owner, doesn't like to see you "hiding in a corner"... he will give you a lecture about how you shouldn't give up until half hour before closing. Instead... go to the Ladies Toilet and hide out there for awhile if you are finding it frustrating/slow.. whatever. Also.. another note in re: Dave. He does party a bit (drugs, alcohol) so if you stay away from him when he is... and try to keep yourself busy with the patrons (even if they aren't buying)... no problems. Otherwise, he's a kewl guy. He's not intimidating. The only >:( I have is that they've a nightly raffle that they have for free lap dance and the $50 the club pays you to do the free topless lap dance (not hard to induce the winner to pay $20 to make it nude).... goes to his girlfriend. The only time this didn't happen was when, obviously, she wasn't working... which only happened once or twice in my three weeks there. Alot of patrons did say to me that they would've preferred to pick but no one is going to pass up a free lap dance for such a small investment. BYO rug. Rugs are allowed on stage and in the lap dance area ;D You'll need one for the stage as it is hard on the knees. There is definately money to be made at this club. There is a weekly fee which you pay off gradually over the week of $450 to $500. The trick with the fee is that you should aim to pay most, if not all, of it off on Wednesday so that whatever you make on Thursday, Friday and Saturday is 100% all yours. How are the shifts? Wednesday open until 5am (sometimes it is slow and you won't make $$ until after 3am due to other nightclubs in the area closing); Thursday open until 3am (usually the slowest); Friday open until 5am (good money) and Saturday open until 5am (good money). The patrons ? I found it was a mix of locals and tourists... mainly tourists. The other dancers ? Definately a big range here with the 'local' talent being only two dancers... and one of them is :o (she's flexible but that's all there is to her). Most dancers are not locals so everyone gets along pretty well. I made friends with 3 other dancers I worked with for my last two weeks... goodness.. we're going to Mt Isa together! ;D Last but not least the free accommodation and airfare. You'll fly Virgin Blue from whatever city/town you are coming from (in my case, Brisbane). Accommodation is either one of the two "caves" located literally right next door to the club or across the road at the hotel. Whilst I made my cave "homely".. it did drive me nuts at points. Microwave, toaster, basic cutlery (be prepared to buy sharp knives and/or spoons) and bar (mini) fridge. No stove. No kettle (you can purchase one for $20 @ Coles). Depending on which "cave" you inhabit - one has a decent TV plus DVD player set up.. the other (the one I was in) the TV was the only thing working. I had a portable CD player/radio. Having no stove was a bummer as I was relegated to what I could make via a microwave and toaster (some meals are better stove prepared instead of microwave). The bathroom is shared between who ever inhabits the two "caves". If you are used to backpacker type of basic accommodation - then this will suit you. Otherwise, ask for free airfare only and arrange your own accommodation. The $450-500 you pay in fees each week supposedly helps them cover the airfare/accommodation expenses. OVERALL ;D Not a bad place to work as there are worse places out there (I've worked in two on the Gold Coast!!). Over the 4 nights (Wed-Sat) you will make over $1000 (after the fee) easily. If you keep your head low and just work (don't try to socialise with the staff.. hence stay out of the politics if possible)... you'll do well. I plan on going back... but for 2 weeks next time not three. UPDATE (Jan 2005) I have since returned to Teaze two more times. The club now only offers 3 week long contracts with you working Wednesday - Saturday. The fee you pay each week is now $550 (or less if you have a bad week) which they would like for you to pay off as follows: $150 Wednesday, $100 Thursday, $150 Friday, $150 Saturday. I highly recommend that you "pay off" the fee as soon as possible. If you pay the fee off in full on Wednesday night (or even Thursday) and then require some of it back (due to not earning good money Friday and/or Saturday).... they will 'refund' you some of it back. The club does give you a receipt therefore you can claim this fee back (tax). Be very aware that this is a hard working club - you might be on stage once every hour sometimes. The stage is a priority and you have to organise your private lap dances around your rostered stage set. Since this club is popular with those of us who have grown to love it (like me).... who now have regulars who will come and visit us whenever we are there... it is advisable that you ring up a month or two before the time you plan to work. Very rarely will you be able to work there with less than three weeks notice. Another Update - March 2005  The only thing that has changed is the earning potential. With the $550 fee each week and dancers' earning $1500 in total (before the fee is taken out) is not good enough. >:( Especially considering it is a 3 week contract and there is NOTHING to do in Rockhampton. It is really boring on your nights off (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). On top of the poor crowds (turn-out) and lack lustre earnings ... from 1st April 2005 Rockhampton will suffer the same fate as Gold Coast and Cairns... a 3am lock-in. This means that if you, the patron, is not within this club by 3am you are effectively locked out. It will take this small town awhile to adapt to this new situation just like the Gold Coast. If my experinence with the Gold Coast and when the 3am lock-in was introduced here has any bearing... it will not bode well for Rockhampton at all. I personally have now crossed Rockhampton off my list of possible places to work esp. with the introduction of the 3am lock-in. Tho' feel free to give the place a go .. as your experience may differ. Just FYI .... if you are willing to give this place a go I have been told that June this year would be a good time. I personally do not recommend this club anymore.
