Horrible management who will drop you in a second without any prior warning. Dancers very friendly. Pace is very slow, with lots of customers coming in to watch but not really spend up big. Tries to be a classy joint but the customers are pretty low-rent mostly. Definitely not recommended.

Great club to work at. Management is extremely professional and helpful and don't allow any bitching, so most girls are friendly and the club always has a nice atmosphere. You have to work pretty hard, because a lot of people just come in for drinks, because it's on King St, which is one of the busiest streets in the city on a Friday/Saturday night. Melbourne has a huge strip club scene so the crowd is quite spread out between the clubs. It can be really slow and quiet during the week. Lap dances are $50 for 3 songs and the only touching allowed is "controlled touching" - your hands must be on customer's hands at all times, but they still can't touch breasts/bum/etc.

centrefold lounge has been open since march 06. it's the newest addition to king street's famous strip club crawl. centrefold lounge is melbourne's largest club but is still being renovated so not all floors are open at this stage. the club currently has 5 bars which means there's never any queues for drinks. the customers are of a very mixed crowd because it is stuck between spearmint rhino and showgirls bar20, the lap dances are fairly easy to sell as there are never many girls on. the most i have worked with is 20 dancers in a night. they usually have 6-8 dancers on a monday and tuesday 8-10 on a wednesday/thurdsay and 15-20 on friday/saturday. the customers do expect chat time with dancers and it is usually in your favour if you spend a few minutes chatting. there are three tables of non stop tabletop dancing in the club (so far) the main stage (fits two girls-1 pole), podium two (1 girl 1 pole) and table three upstairs (1 girl-no pole) then the upstairs function room stage (2poles) used for bachelor parties or group functions tips are usually only recieved on stage on friday and saturday nights as most patrons sit at a table or couch. only once it starts getting busy, patrons visit the stage. it is voluntary tipping as well so they don't feel pressured to tip if they are sitting at the rail. dancers are asked to roster at least one quiet night and a weekend night if possible but other than that, the rostering is fairly flexible. there is a $50 fine if you do not show up to your shift without 24hours notice $20 fine payable to the previous dancer if you are late to your podium set (5mins) or $30 if you miss the entire set. a podium set goes for 15 mins the private dances are 'no touching'. under no circumstance may the customer touch you in a dance unless it is controlled touching ( the dancer places her hands on the patrons hands and guides them over her hip area) but not many girls feel obliged to do this. the dancer may touch (non sexually) the customers on the leg, arms, etc throughout the dance but must not enter the space between their legs, bodyslide, grind or even 'brush against' the gential area of a patron or other dancer. there is a 10cm rule where no part of the dancers breasts or gentitals may come any closer than 10cm to any part of the patrons body. and there is a 30cm rule with genital to genital. dances are $50 for 10mins or $20 one song (3mins). you keep all your tips and at this stage there is no house fee due to the club being new- but expect that to change very quickly. Centrefold lounge is owned and operated by the Mens Gallery Melbourne, so it abides by the same rules and principles but overall is a very relaxed and friendly club. there is no audition process but you must attend an interview with the dance manager. if you are successful, a photo of you will be kept with your records and you will be required to attend a training session where the club rules are explained, a tour provided and dance lessons if needed. for interviewing, please contact liz via the club on (03) 9620 5077 international +61 3 9620 5077
