| Hiring Tips: if you want to work the night shift, you have to look ON POINTE and be able to work the pole. I was lacking on the latter |
Additional Information
I worked at Onyx from November 2015-December 2015 as a day shift girl since I had next to no experience dancing. I figured that since Onyx was a premier club in the Urban stripping scene, it would have easily translated to $$ on the day shift. Oh how naive I was...
Overall scene: it's dead. Very dead. Like "you'll be dancing for furniture for the next 5 hours dead". Obviously, it's the exact opposite once it hits 9 pm but I wouldn't really recommend paying extra to stay over if you're brand spanking new (lIke 0.00% dancing experience new). Luckily they host day parties from time to time...but even then you wouldn't be walking out with much if youre a newbie surviving on $5 dances. Yes you read that right, dances are $5 for day shift;expect days where you're barely able to make your house fees
Management: I loved Patrick. He's such a sweet guy. And both day shift house moms on the weekdays are great. Mistress was my favorite;she'll even go out of her way to show you the ropes. The one on the weekends is polite and very business minded
Fees: $25 house fee, $10/10% of your earnings to the DJ, and $10 to the house mom. I don't how it is at night but you'll obviously have to pay both dj's if you work midshift. For the day parties, the house fees were $45
Hustle: If you're attractive and can dance, it's fairly easy. If you were like me a couple of months ago, you'll have some difficulty selling dances. It's faaaaar easier to sell dances when it's busy. Alot of the guys that come there during the day when it's slow aren't even there to buy dances (??!!)
