Additional Information
I've been working at Dusk since September, and I have no intentions of leaving any time soon! When I auditioned, I simply walked in and told one of the bartenders I was there to audition. I filled out some paperwork (they give you a 1040, write down your SSN and take photos of your ID) and then my audition was two songs long. The rules here are that you have to be fully nude at the end of your first song, or the beginning of your second.
There is a schedule here, and to get scheduled you need to fill out a schedule request form, where you can put in your preferences for what shifts you prefer and what days work for you. You can also request to work doubles on the days that you work. Shifts here are day shift (from 2pm to 9pm, you can stay until 10) and then night shift (you can start as early as 7pm, and then you stay until close, which is at 2:30am). The owner starts out a lot of new girls on day shift, I didn't start out working any day shifts at all so I cannot vouch for what they are like, but I know some girls definitely bank on day shift.
Stage fees here are very reasonable if you show up for your shifts early/on time. For day shift, the fee is only $2 if you show up between 2 and 2:30; it increases by $10 for each half hour you are late (so $12, $22, so on and caps at past 4 at $42). For night shift, the fee is $8, and the same rule applies. On weekend nights, the fee is $16, and for each half hour you're late, they tack on $20 more. There is also the option to add on to the schedule, which means you can add on to days that you are not scheduled to work; if you choose to do this it is a good idea to show up early, because the stage fee for that day or night is doubled when you add on (so $16 on Saturday night would be $32 if you showed up on time).
I currently work there as a minor dancer, which in PDX means I am not allowed to walk the floor. There are three minor stages in the club (which is kind of small sized), two in the back corners and one by the DJ booth. There is also a smoking patio specifically for minor dancers where you can bring customers, and it's very easy to hustle from stage at this club as well. If you are able to hustle and have a lot of tricks up your sleeve, being a minor here is not an obstacle whatsoever (at least in my experience). Bouncers and bartenders will be happy to put in food and drink orders for you since you cannot walk up to the bar.
Dances here are two way contact, just like the first Casa. I personally have not found it to be an issue, as the club takes customers getting out of hand very seriously. They do not do refunds, and there are cameras in every dance room being watched by a bouncer. If a customer appears to be doing something inappropriate they will be issued a warning, and if they continue after that they will be removed from the dance. The bouncers also give you a hand signal (devil horns) to give to the camera if you need assistance. The bouncers are all very professional, friendly, and have a great sense of humor. They man the dance transaction area and will also try to help with upselling dances or encourage customers to tip you, which I think is great!
Dance prices are $50 for one, or 3 for $100. A half hour is $250, and a full hour is $500. Champagne rooms are $500 for a half hour and $1000 for an hour. The club takes 30% out of the dances you sell, and you get to keep 70% plus whatever tips you make.
Almost everyone that works here likes each other (at least from what I know and who I work with the most) and supports each other; dancers with negative attitudes tend not to last very long here. They take conflict very seriously here and supervisors and the owner do their best to diffuse such situations. There also isn't a specific "type" of girl that works here and there are tons of girls with all different body types and looks here that make money.
It has been slow season, but as with anywhere dancers will have good nights and bad nights. There is a lot of potential for money here but I think this club requires a lot more patience and resilience than others. Some girls get luckier than other girls on particular nights whereas some other nights everyone makes money. I haven't ever felt like I was going to be broke working here, though. I had a streak of good nights in November, and December was kind of a dry spell, but this week being the first week of January I've had a lot of luck with getting dances.
DJs here for the most part are great, play a large variety of music, and most of them take requests without a problem. You aren't required to tip anyone if you had a really bad night which is awesome, but besides that it is expected (but not strictly enforced). I think it is easy to build a good relationship with the staff here and they all have everyone's best interests at heart.
You get paid in cash by the end of the night, and have to check out with a bouncer or supervisor; they will always make sure you have the money you made. The bouncers also walk us to our cars when we are ready to leave.
So, overall, I love it here and would definitely recommend it for someone's first club (as it was mine) and it's great for learning how to hustle and get the hang of things.
